Background of the Study
Community radio has emerged as a vital tool for promoting peace and conflict resolution in regions affected by ethnic, religious, and political tensions. In Jos East Local Government Area (LGA), Plateau State, community radio stations play a pivotal role in fostering dialogue, dispelling rumors, and building trust among conflicting groups. Research by Bako and Gyang (2023) highlights the unique ability of community radio to engage local audiences through culturally relevant content and participatory programs. Despite its potential, challenges such as limited funding, political interference, and lack of technical capacity often undermine its effectiveness. This study examines the role of community radio in conflict resolution in Jos East LGA, focusing on its strategies, impact, and challenges.

1.2 Statement of the Problem
Jos East LGA has experienced recurring conflicts that threaten social cohesion and development. While community radio has been identified as a critical tool for conflict resolution, its role in Jos East LGA remains underexplored. Issues such as inadequate resources, lack of neutrality, and limited reach hinder its ability to foster peace.
